Who Should Attend?
This course is of particular interest to anyone with responsibility or interest in infants aged under 1, and children aged from 1 year old to the onset of puberty. It's ideal for parents, sports clubs, martial arts, dance schools and those who don't require the full Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid

This qualification consists of one unit:

Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider
- Be able to assess an emergency situation safely
- Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child who:
- is unresponsive and breathing normally
- is unresponsive and not breathing normally
- has a foreign body airway obstruction
- has external bleeding
- Understand how to provide first aid to an infant an a child who is suffering from shock
- Understand how to provide first aid to an infant and a child with anaphylaxis
Assessment:
Candidates are assessed by ongoing practical assessment, multiple-choice test and oral examination. On completion, students receive a Emergency Paediatric First Aid Certificate, valid for 3 years

1 day: 9.00 - 17.00 (if delivered on-site, can be delivered flexibly depending on client requirements - e.g. alternate weekends, etc.)
